This past October, I stood at the finish line at the Bourbon Chase Relay Race with my 3 girls, waiting for my husband’s team to finish. As I waited, I thought; “This looks fun. Too bad I will never be able to do this!” Several months later, I was still thinking about it, longing to be able to run it. I knew if I wanted to run, I had to change my life. I am a stay-at-home mother of 3 beautiful girls (ages 4. 3 and 1). Like many mothers, I didn’t take the time to take care of myself. I was terribly out of shape and overweight. I was extremely unhappy with the person I saw in the mirror. I finally made the decision to do something for me! I started working out with Katie at the beginning of February and started running (well…walking/jogging). Katie has given me the tools I need to eat healthy through nutrition counseling and the motivation to change my life! Thanks to her and the support of my wonderful husband, I have lost 10% of my body fat, ran two 5K’s and I am currently training to run my first 10K in July. I am excited to say that I WILL be running the Bourbon Chase this October with my husband!
